Vuyo Mere on what TS Galaxy need to change in the new season
TS Galaxy veteran defender Vuyo Mere has advised on what the club should do in the coming season.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars defender admitted that The Rockets were one of the teams that had difficulties converting their chances in the final third last season.
However, he also believes it will be essential to shut the back door and avoid conceding goals.
“We must shut the back door and try to convert our chances, we created so many chances last season, and it seems like it’s still the problem this season. We are still working on it, trying to create chances for the strikers so that everyone can score because last season, we didn’t score many goals as we wanted,” he told TS Galaxy media.
He is convinced that the continuity in the technical team will go a long way. Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic extended his deal at the club until 2025.
“It’s better this season that we are working on it, and we are starting the preseason with the same technical staff as last season,” added Mere.
The veteran defender enters his second decade playing in the PSL and believes he still has much to offer. “I can’t say I train hard or I’m better than other players; it’s just the grace of God. He’s been good to me, and I’m grateful for the health; for the good heart, and I’ll keep going till I drop, and I keep praying every day to thank him for this talent; the only time I could repay him is by praising him with my talent,” added the former Swallows FC defender.
Ramovic will be eager to ensure they start strong after a difficult start last season that led to Owen Da Gama’s axing. A good start will likely help them avoid fighting relegation like they did last season.
