Ramovic spells out Vilakazi, Mlambo’s roles

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has explained the role of two senior players, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Xola Mlambo, in his dressing room.

The duo arrived recently at Galaxy from Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu, respectively, and Ramovic believes having them in a youthful team is essential.

Vilakazi hit the ground running for the Rockets, starting all three opening DStv Premiership encounters of the season, while Mlambo has been used as a second-half substitute in the last two games.

The Mpumalanga-based side lies second on the log after kicking off the campaign with a goalless draw against Usuthu, followed by a famous 1-0 victory against Masandawana on Wednesday, before brushing aside another Pretoria side SuperSport United 2-0 at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.

“Vilakazi is a smart, skilful and quality player; he will help us a lot in the season. The season just started, and we are proud to have players like Vilakazi and Xola [Mlambo], and now we are happy to have [Bernard] Parker in our team. So, of course, the youngsters will also benefit from these quality players,” the German mentor told the media.

The 2018 Nedbank Cup champions are yet to concede a goal so far in the league and have scored three goals. The 43-year-old tactician has already set his sights on the next assignment, which is away against the struggling Golden Arrows.

“We know that the opponents we’re facing next will be a tough one. They [Arrows] didn’t start well, but the quality is high. Also, they have a younger coach who wants to impress, so that it will be a difficult game. But, like I said, in this league, against any team, if you don’t give 100%, you will not have a chance to win games. We have to prepare well,” added the coach.

Furthermore, the Tim Sukazi-owned club announced they had captured the signature of Keletso Makgalwa on a season-long loan from the Brazilians. Makgalwa spent last season on loan at Swallows FC.
