Pirates sign another ABC Motsepe League gem

Orlando Pirates has signed striker Ngcebo Kunene from Limpopo ABC Motsepe League outfit Ngwaabe City Motors.

Kunene will join Pirates’ DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side ahead of the new season.

The frontman is seen as Boitumelo Radiopane’s replacement, who recently joined Cape Town Spurs on a loan. Radiopane topped the DDC goalscoring charts with 24 goals last campaign.

“We wish him luck on his new journey,” said City Motors in a statement.

The youngster will don jersey number 19.

Kunene becomes the third player to be signed by the Buccaneers from the South African football third-tier following the acquisitions of Gomolemo ‘Giggs’ Khuto and Lucky Bule from Orbit College FC of the North West.

Khuto and Bule have each signed a three-year deal with the the Soweto giants. The duo were part of Orbit side that participated in the Pirates U21 Cup in April this year.

Their stellar performance at the Pirates U21 tournament earned them their first professional contracts with the Sea Robbers.
