Frustrated Tino Kadewere set for RD Mallorca loan spell

Zimbabwe International Tino Kadewere is set to join Spanish La Liga side RCD Mallorca on a season-long spell.

French newspaper, L’Équipe, reports that the modest Spain club is willing to add Kadewere into their ranks on loan with an option to buy if he impresses them during the stay.

The 26-year-old has had a nightmarish stay at Lyon following the departure of Rudi Garcia as head coach, who signed to Lyon after a trailblazing performance for Ligue 2 side Le Havre.

And the arrival of former Arsenal striker Alexander Lacazette this season ultimately pushed him down the pecking order.

Current Lyon coach Peter Bosz told the former Harare City striker that he is not in his plans, restricting him to the bench on most occasions.

Strasbourg had been reported to be angling to snap the lanky forward, but nothing materialised.

Without a doubt, Kadewere is desperate to leave the French side before the transfer window closes in search of game time.

It remains to be seen if the deal to Mallorca persists since Lyon was aiming for a permanent sale.

Meanwhile, another Zimbabwean International, Marvellous Nakamba, is keeping his fingers crossed, having been transfer listed by Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.

The gritty midfielder has been linked with a move to Turkey, where most of Villa’s rejects have surfaced.

His African compatriots, Mbwana Samatta, Bertrand Traore and Egyptian forward Trézéguet, found new homes in Turkey after being cut into the wilderness by the Claret and Blue.

On the other hand, three Premier League teams, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Fulham, are reportedly interested in luring the 28-year-old.

In the Skybet Championship, the Zimbabwean pair of Admiral Muskwe and Macauley Bonne have been linked with moves to Ipswich before the transfer window closes.
