The former AmaZulu goalie will be hoping to secure a deal with the Lions of the North as the new season looms large.

Kapini also represented teams such as Black Aces, Highlanders FC, and Platinum Stars.

Allan Freese’s side finished second in Stream B of their provincial ABC League with 30 points last campaign, just two points adrift of stream leaders MM Platinum (La Masia), who went on to win the South African football third-tier national playoffs and gained promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Veteran goalkeeper Bruce Kapini reignites Highlanders dream with “come get me” call

Highlanders legend Bruce Kapini has sent a stir through the Bulawayo football scene, expressing his long-held desire to return to his boyhood club in a recent interview with FARPost. The 38-year-old shot-stopper, known for his command of the box and calming presence, hinted at a potential deal with the ambitious amateur side.

“Of course, it’s a dream to come back,” Kapini admitted. “If the circumstances were right, I could have returned earlier. I get asked about it all the time by the fans in Bulawayo, but it’s ultimately up to Bosso [Highlanders] to offer me a chance to contribute.”

While acknowledging ongoing contract negotiations, Kapini made it clear that finding the right fit is key. “It’s all about finding the right terms and a role that benefits both me as a senior player and the club’s ambitions,” he explained.

With Highlanders aiming for promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Kapini’s experience and leadership could prove invaluable. His arrival would not only bolster the squad’s defensive stability but also inspire confidence in the pursuit of their league goals.
