Sibanyoni relishing SuperSport competition
Mamelodi Sundowns striker on loan to SuperSport United Thabang Sibanyoni is relishing the competition at his new home.
Despite being the youngest striker between Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza, the 26-year-old is relishing the challenge.
Through hard work and dedication at training and at matches, the AmaTuks academy graduate has become a regular in the Matsatsantsa set-up.
He has featured in all matches so far. Now he’s working on his fitness and is hungry for goals.
“The competition motivates me because I’m the youngest striker between the two [Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza].
“It gives me hunger to work extra hard and put more effort, be it at training or during the matches whenever I’m given the opportunity to play,” Sibanyoni told FARPost.
“I’m learning a lot from them on and off the field to become a better striker. They have been around for quite some time. I believe they have seen the worst things in football whilst I’m still building my career. With the right teachings and guidance, I will reach the level that I want to be at.”
The former Sekhukhune striker revealed that he has settled in well at the Tshwane giants and made a big promise.
“I’m happy to be here, I’ve adjusted to the setup, and the style of play suits me. I just need to work on my fitness to find my right form because I started preseason late than other players.”
“I’ve featured in all the club’s games except for Sundowns one. The coach has faith in me. I just have to work on my fitness and then show my best.”
“When I regain my fitness, goals will start coming because my confidence will also be high. I see myself on top five scorers with most goals come to the end of the season,” Sibanyoni added.
Sibanyoni will be watching their game against Sundowns on Friday from the stands as per the club’s agreement for the players on loan.
The Tshwane derby headlining the DStv Premiership matches heading into the weekend kicks off at 7.30pm at Lucas Moripe.
