Charles Zulu rejoins Zambian club Zanaco

Former Cape Town City winger Charles Zulu has returned to his old Zambian club Zanaco.

Zulu has joined the Lusaka club on a free transfer after stints in South Africa and Tanzania.

A reliable source confirmed Zulu’s return just two years after he left Zambia for the South African PSL.

Zulu spent one term with Cape Town City in the 2020/21 season, where he made 14 appearances in all competitions without a goal.

He later joined Tanzanian club Azam for a season before making his way back home to Zambia.

Zulu becomes the second player to rejoin Zanaco from the PSL.

Midfielder Salulani Phiri returned to the seven-time Zambian champions last season on a two-year deal after spending five seasons at Polokwane City.

The duos’ compatriot and Chipolopolo midfielder Roderick Kabwe briefly trekked back to Zanaco last year after leaving Black Leopards.

However, Kabwe returned to the PSL in January to join Sekhukhune United.

Meanwhile, Zulu could make his Zanaco return as early as Sunday.

Zanaco travels to Kitwe for their big clash against the record 13-time Zambia champions Nkana in a 2022 FAZ Super League Week 3 fixture.

Zanaco is currently 10th on the log with 3 points from two games played.
