Kaizer Chiefs to appear before PSL DC
Kaizer Chiefs will appear before the PSL DC on charges of a spectators pitch invasion in a match against Stellenbosch last Saturday.
Chiefs beat Stellies at Danie Craven Stadium 4-3 on penalties last week in the MTN8 quarter-finals, and kickoff had to be delayed by 30 minutes when Amakhosi faithful invaded the pitch.
The Soweto giants are expected to appear before the DC on Thursday to answer for the charges of pitch invasion by spectators.
“I can confirm that charges were preferred against Kaizer Chiefs and they will be appearing before the PSL DC this coming Thursday to answer for charges of spectator pitch invasion in their match against Stellenbosch FC.
“Once the PSL DC has been finalized, I will provide further details and the outcomes thereof. In the intervening period, there will be no commentary on this matter until it is finalized,” PSL Prosecutor Advocate Zola Majavu told PSL media.
After booking a spot in MTN8 Semi-finals, the glamour boys return to the DStv Premiership to face high-flying AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The Arthur Zwane-coached team have had an inconsistent start to the 2022/23 season which saw them win only two games and losing three times in five game played thus far.
