What Vilakazi told Pule Mmodi after failed Chiefs move

Golden Arrows coach Vusi Vilakazi has revealed what he told Pule Mmodi after failed move to Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the season.

Mmodi didn’t start the campaign very well, as he was still coming to terms that his dream move to Amakhosi collapsed after months of discussions, with both teams not reaching an agreement.

There were concerns at Arrows that he may take time to deal with that disappointment, but fortunately, he seems to have moved on and now trying to get back to his best.

On Saturday, he scored a goal in the 3-2 win over Chippa United.

He has scored in the last two games, which Arrows won against AmaZulu and Chippa United on Saturday.

Vilakazi, after the game, expressed his appreciation for the contribution Pule Mmodi’s contribution to the club, with confidence that he will get back to his best soon and understands that he is human and allowed to be affected by anything around him.

“He is improving slowly but surely, I think he is not the best Mmodi that we know, but we must appreciate his contribution to the club. He scored last game, and today, so slowly, the confidence will come. I did say he is human and bound to be distracted,” Vilakazi told media after their 3-2 win over Chippa United.

“When the season started, he was sure that he would go, but it didn’t happen, and it affected him. He slowly is coming back to the Pule [Mmodi] we know.”

He revealed what may have led to the attacker's change of performance.

He further assured him that if he keeps on delivering, the team that wanted him will come again and hopefully, this time, they will reach an agreement because Arrows doesn’t stand in any player’s way.

“What I told him, what happened shouldn’t kill him; whichever team wanted him, they can still want him, he must work hard, and Arrows will always be open to selling him.”
