Tanzanian giants Simba SC sack head coach

Tanzanian giants Simba SC have parted ways with their head coach Zoran Manoljović just two months at the helm.

Simba SC appointed the Serbian mentor in June 2022, replacing Spaniard Pablo Franco Martin, who left the club at the end of May.

According to the Lions’ statement, the two parties succumbed to a decision to mutually go their separate ways following the club’s inconsistent results.

The side also confirmed that they had let go of their fitness coach Sbai Karim and goalkeeper coach Mohamed Rachid.

“Simba SC Sports Club wishes them all the best in their future endeavours. They will always remain part of the Simba family,” read the club’s statement.

Manoljović began his coaching career in Portugal. So far, he has coached in seven countries: Morocco, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Algeria and Portugal and most recently, Tanzania.

He guided Primeiro de Agosto of Angola to the African Champions League semi-final in 2018.

Meanwhile, coach Selemani Matolla will take charge of the team ahead of their league match against KMC tomorrow.

Simba SC further stated that the new coach recruitment is currently underway, and an announcement will be made in due course once the “new candidate has been identified.”
