Dream debut loading for Zimbabwean international Kadewere in La Liga

All is set for Zimbabwean International forward Tino Kadewere to finally make his dream debut for Spanish La Liga side Real Mallorca.

Kadewere completed his loan move to the Spain outfit last week, but his debut was halted because of work permit issues.

However, the Lyon striker finally received the work permit on Tuesday, making him available for selection when his new team face table-toppers Real Madrid on Sunday.

THE ZIM STAR TO RUB SHOULDERS WITH IDOL BENZEMA

In this one, Kadewere will hope to finally rub shoulders with his all-time idol Karim Benzema when the two sides clash.

However, that is solely dependent on Benzema’a availability for the match after the Frenchman was substituted after 30 minutes due to injury during Real Madrid’s Champions League clash against Celtic Glasgow on Tuesday night.

Most importantly, Kadewere is hoping and praying that his stay in Spain will shift the pendulum for him after being frozen out at Lyon before the loan switch.

The 26-year-old centre-forward arrived at the French giants, Lyon, with so much to offer, and he formed a formidable partnership with Cameroonian international Karl Toko Ekambi.

In two seasons, the ex-Harare City forward had played 48 league games and notched 11 goals.

While his combination with Ekambi showed so much promise, injuries at the beginning of last season left him sidelined.

Ultimately, he fell out of favour, and the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette delivered the final blow to his prospects at the club, and he was deemed excess baggage.

Kadewere, who became the first Zimbabwean to feature in the highly rated La Liga, is brimming with confidence that he will make an immediate impact and possibly trigger the club to make a permanent buy.

“The first impression is always key but being consistent is what can forever keep us going. I am looking forward to this opportunity, and I aim to get the best out of it,” Kadewere said.

Since his move, Mallorca has played two games where they picked five points following a win over Vallecas and a draw at Girona last weekend.
