Maboe eager to get back to winning ways against Chippa
Mamelodi Sundowns midfield maestro Lebohang Maboe says they are going all out for three points when they face struggling Chippa United in their next DStv Premiership match on Wednesday evening (7:30 pm) at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Both teams are coming from defeats. The defending champions, Sundowns, lost the Tshwane Derby to rivals SuperSport United 2-1. Whilst Chippa suffered a 3-2 defeat to Golden Arrows.
Maboe, who recently recovered from an injury, will be eyeing his first appearance for Masandawana this season. He aims to make an impact by helping the team get back to winning ways.
“We also just came back from a defeat. We are obviously looking forward to winning the game. I know it’s not going to be an easy one, but I believe in the team and that we will definitely come back with positive results.” Maboe told the club’s media department.
“We need to believe in the process and we need to believe in what we are trying to work towards. It’s never going to be easy, there are going to be some challenges and hiccups here and there.”
“When we get that momentum going we know that from there onwards we are going to be winning more consistently and having more consistent performances.”
The 27-year-old, however, anticipates a tough match with the Chilli Boys, now under the leadership of coach Daine Klate.
“I think it’s going to be a very difficult one; I don’t think it’s going to be any easy. We never have games that are going to be easy, considering that Chippa have a new and young coach with maybe a bit of fresh new ideas.
“They got a lot of exciting new players, and obviously, most of those players are looking to cement their place in the team and the starting 11. They will obviously push themselves; they are already motivated, and they don’t need motivation playing against Mamelodi Sundowns,” Maboe added.
