Mamelodi Sundowns’ new signing Abubeker Nasir is set to miss the DStv Premiership tie against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay on Wednesday evening due to illness.
He has started off his Sundowns career well, scoring three goals so far.
The Ethiopia international started the tie against SuperSport, scoring the consolation goal as they went down 2-1 in Pretoria.
He was expected to continue from where he left off when Sundowns seek to bounce back to winning ways in the Eastern Cape.
However, the 22-year-old announced he had been ruled out through illness.
“Due to a slight illness I will not be able to help my team today, but we will win,” Nasir tweeted.
