OFFICIAL: Swallows show Kerr the exit door

As reported by FARPost on Monday, Swallows FC have officially parted ways with head coach, Dylan Kerr.

This comes after the club’s string of poor results.

The side recently suffered a 4-0 drubbing at the expense of Golden Arrows over the weekend which led to Kerr’s sacking.

However, the former Baroka FC, Black Leopards and Marumo Gallants mentor said he takes full responsibility for Swallows’ below-part performances as he has struggled to get fruitful results in the new campaign.

So far, the club has won two games, drew two and lost four in the process.

As a result, Maswaiswai find themselves on position 14 with eight points.

Kerr was described as the paragon of all paragons, when he saved The Dube Birds from being relegated last season.

“We would like to thank coach Kerr for his contribution he has made to the team and wish him well for his future endeavours,” said the club in a statement.

The departing coach had joined the Soweto club in what was meant to be a short-term deal halfway through the last campaign, replacing the now AmaZulu head coach Brandon Truter, whose job is also on the line at the KwaZulu-Natal side.

KERR COMMENTS AFTER ARROWS GAME…

“I’ve got a meeting with him [Mogashoa] on Monday. He says we are losing” Kerr told the media.

“Listen, after that result; I do not know what the chairman is thinking.

“I have to take responsibility, which I will; if the chairman feels it is time for change, which is his decision, I can’t do anything about it.

“I don’t think we played badly; we just couldn’t create enough chances; the boys showed that they wanted to play, but it was not meant to be.”

He had hoped to turn his side’s fortunes around when they return after the FIFA calendar break.

“The priority is not to concede, we have conceded fourteen goals already, and thirteen of them was for our own doing,” he said.

“We also need to create more chances; we just need to work on our defence. We are conceding a lot; we keep making lots of mistakes.”
