“AK47” Ndlovu shoots at Swallows: ‘Problems bigger than any coach’

Retired striker Sandile Ndlovu is of the view that Swallows’ problems are much bigger than any coach, insisting that there are also issues within the management following the sacking of Dylan Kerr.

As reported by FARPost on Monday, Swallows announced the departure of Kerr on Wednesday due to poor results.

Swallows are languishing in 14th place after eight DStv Premiership games with only two wins.

The Dube Birds find themselves as early contenders for relegations and are already searching for a new coach.

KERR SHOWN THE EXIT DOOR

On Saturday, after their 4-0 loss to Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium, many things were exposed.

Fans expressed anger towards the coach, who had a bizarre media engagement. Swallows chairman David Mogashoa called Kerr while journalists were asking him about player transfers at the club.

And when he returned after taking that call, he told the media that he had been summoned to an urgent meeting on Monday. His future was discussed, and he was let go.

Swallows’ former striker Ndlovu believes the club has deeper problems; at this moment, no coach can solve them.

NDLOVU SHARES HIS OPINION

“Swallows have too many problems; they don’t have top players like any big team; what is happening with them, it sad and hard to fathom Ndlovu told FARPost.

“I don’t think there’s a coach that can help Swallows.

“Their problems are bigger than any coach; they seem to be too many, from the players to the management,” he added.

Ndlovu, who was known as “AK47” in his heydays, feels Kerr was the right man for the Swallows job.

Because of his experience in working in challenging conditions and has saved clubs from relegation, including the Dube Birds last season.

“I do not know who can come in after Kerr; I thought with their situation.

“He was a better man for the job,” he said Ndlovu.

“Kerr is not fussy and can adapt to any environment. They are in a very tough situation.”

The Soweto side will use these two weeks’ FIFA break to find solutions to their issues and think of ways to get out of the relegation zone.
