Why Royal AM won’t replace Dan Malesela

Royal AM president Shauwn Mkhize has explained why the club won’t be replacing coach Dan Malesela, who recently left the KwaZulu-Natal side.

Malesela sealed a shock return to Marumo Gallant, leaving Royal after just two months as one of the co-coaches.

The tactician parted ways with Royal AM amid allegations of a poor relationship with the club’s technical team.

However, MaMkhize denied any tension talks in the technical team while explaining the decision made by Maleseala, who claimed he worked without a contact at Royal AM.

MAMKHIZE ON DAN MALESELA

The president, MamKhize, expressed her appreciation to Malesela and said she supports and respects the coach’s decision.

“Coach Dan is an ambitious man, and he wants to grow; he felt co-coaching was not good for him,” MaMkhize told Ukhozi FM.

“He did not want to be part of the group; he felt it will affect his brand. Dan came here knowing he loved this brand and still does; wherever he is, he loves Royal AM.

“There was no tension, but in any workplace, there are always disagreements. I don’t think that was his reason; he just wanted to grow,” added the Royal AM president.

Thwihli Thwahla has received several job applications from coaches, and the president says Royal AM are not looking for a new coach.

MamKhize says they do not want to destabilise the club as they are focusing on their CAF Confederations Cup and domestic run.

“We do not want any new coach, we want stability, and to all the coaches that have sent CV.

“But unfortunately, we are not hiring, we want to keep the stability in the team,” she declared.

Royal AM’s next task is a friendly match against Kaizer Chiefs in Bloemfontein in the Macufe Cup on Sunday.

The encounter is expected to attract a vast crowd, including Siwelele fans, as they will welcome Royal AM for the first time after buying the Bloemfontein Celtic status last year.
