SuperSport defender in Zebras’ squad for Bafana friendly
SuperSport United defender Thatayaone Ditlohokwe has been named in Botswana’s Zebras squad to face Bafana Bafana next week in a friendly.
Ditlohokwe is the only South Africa-based player Botswana caretaker coach Mogomotsi Mpote has drafted in the 24-member provisional squad.
Mpote announced the squad list in Gaborone on Friday morning ahead of the friendly on September 27 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
TWO FOREIGN-BASED PLAYERS
The squad is dominated by home-based players drawn from domestic clubs such as Township Rollers and Gaborone United.
The only exception in the squad is that of midfielder Gapf Mohutsiwa and striker Tumisang Orebonye.
Mohutsiwa is on the books of AS Olympique de Chelf in the Algerian top-flight league.
Orebonye plays for Olympique Clube de Khourigbe in the second-tier league of Morocco.
The Zebras are fine-tuning for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers for Group K which comprises leaders Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea and Libya.
Botswana anchor the table with one point from two games.
The Zebras are determined to put their campaign back on track when the qualifiers resume next March.
BAFANA’S SQUAD FOR ZEBRAS
