Cameroon ended their friendly calendar winless, while Brazil humbled Tunisia as Africa’s FIFA World Cup envoys ended their September build-ups with mixed fortunes on Tuesday.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon were beaten 1-0 by hosts South Korea in Seoul on September 27.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-Min scored in the 35th minute to see Cameroon end their Far East tour winless.
The result came four days after losing 2-0 to Uzbekistan up the road in Goyang.
BLACK STARS BOUNCE BACK
But Ghana rebounded from last Friday’s 3-0 defeat to Brazil with a victory over Nicaragua at Lorca in Spain.
Ghana beat Nicaragua 1-0 thanks to a 35th-minute goal from their Portuguese-based teenage striker Abdul Fatawu of Sporting Lisbon.
However, Tunisia suffered a similar fate to that of the Black Stars against the five-time world champions.
Brazil trounced Tunisia 5-1 at Parc de Princes in Paris in a match defender Montassar Tabi scored The Carthage Eagles goal in the 18th minute.
Raphinha scored a first-half brace and put Brazil ahead in the 11th minute.
Richarlison was on target in the 19th minute; a Neymar penalty followed in the 29th minute.
Pedro completed the business in the 74th minute.
Tunisia’s loss came five days after they kicked off their September friendlies with a 1-0 win over Comoros in Orleans, France.
Back in Spain, Paraguay and Morocco finished scoreless in Seville.
Morocco finished their September on a good note under new coach Walid Regragui.
The Atlas Lions beat Chile 2-0 on his debut on September 23 in Barcelona.
And in Austria, AFCON champions Senegal finished 1-1 against Iran in Maria Enzerdorf to end their friendly schedule unbeaten after defeating Bolivia 2-0 in Orleans on September 24.
Senegal benefited from a Morteza Pouraliganji own-goal in the 55th minute before Iran equalised in the 64th minute through Sardar Azmoun.
