Solomons reveals his preferred position at Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs star Dillan Solomons has boldly revealed the position he prefer to play at the club.
Solomons can play high up the field as a winger and can also be deployed as a right back.
Despite many suggesting that Solomons is better suited as an attacking player because of his explosive pace and the ability to take on defenders, the speedy star says he prefers playing as right back.
WHY HE PREFERS THE RIGHT BACK POSITION
“I think I prefer to play right back, that’s something that I’ve done in the past,” Solomons told the media.
“I feel more comfortable playing at right back, if anyone ask you to play anywhere you have to be versatile in the game at the moment.
“You know the game has evolved so if you are a versatile player it will help you a lot but I feel more comfortable playing right back,” he added.
Solomons joined Amakhosi at the beginning of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season from Swallows and has already established himself as a regular starter for the Soweto giants.
The former Cape Town All Stars winger was impressive in Swallows colours in the last campaign.
He made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Soweto side and scored four goals while contributing one assist.
Solomons is currently the preferred choice by coach Arthur Zwane in the right back position ahead of Reeve Frosler and Njabulo Blom, who sometimes play as a defensive midfielder.
The ex-Stellenbosch attacker has so far played nine matches for Amakhosi and chipped in with one goal.
The Glamour Boys will be looking to stamp their authority when they face AmaZulu in the MTN8 semi-final first-leg clash at FNB Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is at 15:30.
