Mosimane hits ground running at Al Ahli…fans react
Coach Pitso Mosimane has hit the ground running at his new club Al Ahli Saudi FC.
Mosimane arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday with his agent Moira and backroom staff.
The South African trainer went onto sign a contract with the second-tier club Al Ahli before inspecting its facilities.
FIRST TRAINING SESSION
The 57-year-old then wasted no time as he took charge of his first training session with his charges on the evening of the same Monday.
“The first training session with Mr. Mosimane,” Al Ahli tweeted on Monday evening.
Mosimane arrived in Saudi Arabia minus fitness coach Kabelo Rangoaga who is reportedly attending a CAF workshop.
Rangoaga is expected to fly to Saudi Arabia in the next 10 days when he is done with the workshop.
FANS SWITCH FROM AL AHLY TO AL AHLI
Meanwhile, fans mostly from South Africa have since seemingly switched their focus from Mosimane’s former employers Al Ahly in Egypt to Al Ahli.
Little wonder, the fans have since reacted to the start of the former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach’s new reign in Saudi Arabia.
One fan Thembinkosi Jali has predicted good things to come for the Jeddah-based club under the former Bafana Bafana’s handler’s watch.
“I hope fans and players are ready for happy days because this man can be trusted insha Allah,” Jali said.
Another supporter calling himself Vladimir Mzwakhe Tsotetsi made a loaded statement about the South African coach who is also affectionately called Jingles.
“The only man who can win the game with 80-year-old people, because he believes in working. Respect Mr Jingles,” Tsoketsi said.
Maplasi Aaron opted to focus on what he thinks would be Mosimane’s influence in Asia, saying: “Already gained continental attention.”
Sphethino Kha Leshabane chipped in saying: “I’m thinking of packing all my belongings and build a four-roomed house on this [Al Ahli] page.”
Justice V Packson warned opponents for Al Ahli, saying they should expect a good run for their money.
“This team looks more dangerous now, I feel bad for our opponents,” he said.
