Bradley Grobler inches close to PSL veterans’ record
Bradley Grobler inched closer to the PSL veterans’ record after scoring for SuperSport United in the 3-1 win over Sekhukhune United on Friday.
The towering Grobler has now scored against 23 different teams in the PSL history, following his latest strike at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
TICO-TICO, MAYO
Grobler is now one goal away from matching the feat of Manuel ‘Tico-Tico’ Bucuane and Patrick Mayo, according to OptaJabu.
The Jomo Cosmos legend Tico-Tico and former Chiefs striker Mayo hold a joint record of having scored against 24 teams in the PSL history.
“This was Bradley Grobler’s first goal against Sekhukhune United, the 23rd different PSL side he’s scored against. In PSL top-flight history, only Patrick Mayo & Tico-Tico Bucuane (both 24) have scored against more different opponents. Collection. #DSTVPrem,” @OptaJabu tweeted.
The 34-year-old SuperSport striker had, going into the DStv Premiership game, not scored against Sekhukhune.
Grobler was joined on the scoresheet by Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Thamsanqa Gabuza at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
