Kaizer Chiefs left-winger Kgaogelo Sekgota has revealed how he turned his fortunes around in the new season after failing to become a regular player at the Soweto giants upon his arrival from Swallows last campaign.
Sekgota only managed to play 18 games across all competitions in the last term for Amakhosi, mostly coming in as a substitute.
But, the 25-year-old playmaker, Sekgota has been flourishing since the start of the season with coach Arthur Zwane describing him as the real talisman of his side.
And he has proven that he is a rare source of good cheer to the Glamour Boys’ attack.
Sekgota has been working his way into the Chiefs faithful’s hearts through his recent consistent stellar performances that have yielded fruitful results for his team.
HOW SEKGOTA TURNED HIS FORTUNES AROUND
“They have created a programme for me and I have been working hard and I’m still going to work hard,” he told the media.
“The programme was mainly about football and tactics.
“And also, there are changes, there are new players and new style of play, and the support that we have as a team.”
The Limpopo-born footballer also divulged how coach Zwane has been supporting him through thick and thin in order to get his mojo back.
“He encouraged me to keep doing what I like. And he also advised me to do what I need to do at the right moment and at the right time,” Sekgota added.
“Obviously, for me to be playing at this moment, I have to thank the coach for the opportunity that he gave me and all my teammates and the experienced players that have been pushing us as youngsters to improve our skills.
Sekgota also reflected on their upcoming game against Chippa United on Saturday, 15 October at Moses Mabhida Stadium. The kick-off is at 17:30.
“Going to the next game against Chippa United, it’s a new game and a new challenge. We know what we have to do to win a game and we know what not to do to lose the game,” explained the Seshego boy.
