Full house for Mosimane as Kabelo Rangoaga joins Al Ahli
Coach Pitso Mosimane now has a full backroom staff at Al Ahli FC in Saudi Arabia following fitness coach Kabelo Rangoaga’s arrival on Wednesday.
Mosimane’s management firm MTSport10 has confirmed the arrival of Rangoaga at Al Ahli.
“Fitness Coach Kabelo Rangoaga has finally joined the team in Jeddah and facilitated last night’s training session,” MTSports10 tweeted.
“Are you as excited as us to see what the dream team pulls together for the upcoming games?”
The former Mamelodi Sundowns trainer had stayed behind to attend a CAF workshop.
Mosimane arrived in Saudi Arabia a fortnight ago alongside his agent Moira, analysts Musi Matlaba and Kyle Solomon.
Al Ahli then confirmed the reasons behind Rangoaga’s delayed arrival.
“It was decided that the fitness coach of the South African first-team football team, Kabelo Rangoaga, will arrive in Jeddah after completing the previously scheduled workshops of the Confederation of African Football,” Al Ahli said in a statement.
Mosimane worked with the backroom crew at Sundowns until the year 2020, when he quit beginning a new adventure in Al Ahly of Egypt.
The celebrated coach took the backroom team with him to Al Ahly, where he went on to spend 21 months.
The former Bafana Bafana boss resigned from Al Ahly in June due to growing pressure, which he felt was unjustified considering his performance.
The 57-year-old left Egypt after having won the CAF Champions League twice, plus a similar number of FIFA Club World Cup bronze medals.
Now, Mosimane is back in the dug-out at the Jeddah-based second-tier club, which he believes offers the best football project.
The former SuperSport United gaffer has been tasked with earning Al Ahli promotion to the elite Saudi Arabia Pro-League.
Mosimane has started his reign in Saudi Arabia with a 1-1 draw with Jeddah FC before beating Najran FC to move from seventh to fourth place in the standings.
