Unstoppable Kodisang flying high in Portugal
South African winger Kobamelo Kodisang is flying high in Portugal after scoring his fifth goal, just a day after being named Player of the Month [August/September].
The 23-year-old winger earned himself another start when he helped Moreirense thrash Vilafraquense 3-0 in the third round of the Portuguese Cup.
After featuring in nine games across all competitions for his side this season in the Portuguese second tier, he has scored five goals, weighed in with one assist and won four Man of the Match accolades.
Kodisang joined Moreirense in August this year from SC Braga B on a season-long loan deal.
When he signed for Moreirense, the talented winger said that he want to give his best and hopes that his best is good enough for him and the club.
As things stand, one can say he is living up to his promises as he is delivering exactly what he had pledged when he put pen to paper.
Given the Seraleng-born’s impressive scoring rate at the moment, it won’t come as a surprise if he secures a big move next season.
Kodisang isn’t just the Portuguese side’s star player. The former Platinum Stars ace is a cracking package, workhorse, creator and ever-reliable finisher.
His consistent stellar performances got many people calling for his name in the Bafana Bafana set-up, having represented South Africa at all youth levels.
He featured in some of the big tournaments, such as the 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Chile, and formed part of David Notoane’s Under-23 squad that participated in the Tokyo Olympics.
The ex-Kaizer Chiefs target will be hoping to continue to prove his worth with some fine performances and important goals as he remains a significant force at his club.
