Zwane: Time will come for the country to benefit from Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane believes the success of the club at youth level will benefit the country as Amakhosi development teams are doing a great job in their respective leagues.
Zwane has praised the club’s development for doing a great job in grooming youngsters.
This comes after seven Kaizer Chiefs players were in the starting line up for South Africa on Tuesday as they thrashed Comoros 4-0 in the COSAFA Cup U/20 competition.
The Chiefs youngsters are Bontle Molefe, Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala, Aden McCarthy, Omega Mdaka, Puso Dithejane and Prince Manku.
“I think I said this four years ago if I’m not mistaken; I said the time will come for the country to benefit from Kaizer Chiefs,” Zwane told the media.

“You must have seen the results in our development, the U/19s won the Engine Champ of Champs a month ago, our U/17s just won a cup as well.
“U/13s are doing very well, U/15s lost in the semi finals on penalties. Our reserve team won the Diski Shield, so that alone tells you.”

Zwane further revealed the importance of focusing on the developmental teams as it helps in terms of talent indentification and recruitment for the senior team in future.
“We focused more into our system of play and because the system of play will make you identify, there is talent identification,” added Zwane.
“It helps us big time when we do recruitments, what type of players we looking for and that is why right now in the development things are smooth sailing.
“There is still a lot of work to do, but there is a lot of improvement as well which is good simply because of the identity. Identity will definitely yield results in future.
The Chiefs youngsters representing Amajita in the COSAFA Cup will be expected to make yet another impact when they take on Mozambique in their next encounter.
