Maduna makes fascinating comments on Romain Folz’s tactics

AmaZulu attacking midfielder Siphesihle Maduna has commented on his new coach Romain Folz’s tactics, just two weeks after the Frenchman took over from Brandon Truter.

The Durban side look rejuvenated under the former Township Rollers and Marumo Gallants mentor. They were impressive in the tie against Orlando Pirates last Friday, although they failed to return home with maximum points.

ATTACKING BRAND

AmaZulu will be hoping to get one over neighbours Maritzburg United on Wednesday night at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Folz is known for an attacking brand of football, and Maduna has since commented on his tactics. “What I can say is we are still going to make AmaZulu supporters happy, starting against Maritzburg United,” a confident Maduna said.

“His [Romain Folz] tactics are really good, and we will destroy teams in the league this season with him.”

The Usuthu development graduate scored his first goal against Pirates as they drew 1-1. He believes it is just the beginning of more incredible things, as he targets trophies and individual awards.

Maduna further revealed what his coach’s expectations regarding his game were. “It was good to score a goal. The coach expects me to score goals and be key. I want to win trophies for the team and individual awards.”

REVIVE THEMSELVES

Maduna suggested they were eager to revive themselves after a very challenging period under the previous coach Brandon Truter.

AmaZulu have played two KZN derbies this season, against Lamontville Golden Arrows and Richards Bay FC. They lost both matches and will be looking to make amends this time.

On the other hand, the Team of Choice has struggled lately and will be eager to bounce back to winning ways. Maritzburg coach John Maduka’s job hangs in the balance.
