Lesotho’s Linare appoint Tebogo Moloi replacement

Linare have announced the appointment of Leslie Notši as the permanent coach for three years, replacing Tebogo Moloi.

Moloi parted ways with the club a few weeks ago and will be presented to fans on Saturday before the game against CCX at the Lesotho College of Agriculture (LCA) ground in Hlotse, Leribe.

Notši is one of the most respected and well-known coaches in local football and has had coaching spells in South Africa in the past.

The last time he coached a club was in 2018. He left Kick4Life to join the Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) as Technical Director. He held that position until this week, when he resigned to prepare himself for his new challenge in Leribe.

“We are happy to have a coach of Notši’s calibre on board, and as management, we vow to fully support him in order to achieve our goals. To the fans, sponsors and everyone, we ask you to also show him your support,” the club said in a statement.

While it may seem like a long time since his last coaching job at club level, during his time at LEFA, Notši was still involved in coaching. He has, on several occasions, coached the national team Likuena.

Notši will be working with the coaches at the club that had been guiding the team in the absence of a head coach.

In 2019, after Moses Maliehe fell ill and could no longer perform his duties. It was Notši who was roped in to steady the ship while the association searched for a new coach.

Thabo Senong eventually came in and took over, when he also left, it was Notši who once again had to step in and prepare a team for Veselin Jelusic.
