Zwane: Why AmaZulu are dangerous under Romain Folz

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has explained why he says AmaZulu is a dangerous team ahead of their MTN8 semi-final second leg on Sunday.

Usuthu has a new man in charge, Romain Folz after Brandon Truter left the club a few weeks ago following a string of bad results.

The first leg ended all square levelled one all as the teams couldn’t be separated after 90 minutes. Heading into the second leg, one team will bow out, and another one will head into the final.

For the matches Folz has been in charge, Zwane says he has noticed some changes and differences, especially in the style of play.

“I watched them against Pirates. I also watched them last night. Obviously, their approach is very different compared to the previous coach,” Zwane told the media.

“They are more dangerous now because they are using all the offensive players very well. The chances they created against Orlando Pirates and the chances they created last night. I saw a lot of differences and a dangerous team going forward.”

Zwane further urged his defenders to be extra careful against AmaZulu attackers as they can hurt them and cause damage if not taken care of.

The Soweto giants’ defence has been shaky since the beginning of the season. They have been conceding easy goals and making a lot of mistakes.

The sloppiness led Zwane to keep on rotating and reshuffling his backline. So far this season, Amakhosi defence have let in 17 goals in all competitions.

“We have to be a bit cautious, make sure we tighten our screws because we’ve been letting in goals very cheaply, but that’s something we will work on,” Zwane added.

Kickoff at Moses Mabhida Stadium is at 15:30.

In another encounter, Mamelodi Sundowns will host Orlando Pirates at Peter Mokaba Stadium. The first leg ended 0-0. Kickoff on Saturday is at 15:30
