Young Africans president Eng. Hersi Said Ally has made remarks suggesting coach Nasreddine Nabi’s future remains uncertain.
Yanga were booted out of the CAF Champions League despite heavily investing in their squad.
They signed Stephane Aziz Ki and retained the services of Congolese talisman Fiston Mayele, who was in demand after a stellar season.
However, with so much expected in the continental competition, Yanga were knocked out. They will now play in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they were drawn against Club Africain of Tunisia.
Since then, the future of the Tunisian coach, who took over in April last year, has been the subject of speculation.
Hersi admitted that the club’s vociferous fans were unhappy about the Champions League exit, which was chief among their targets for the season.

“We have our targets, but we haven’t decided about the coach. The coach is still in his position. He is still our coach. Yes, as a club, we have our targets and look forward to achieving our targets.
“One of our targets was to go to the group stages [of the CAF Champions League]. Since we have failed with that, the consideration will be a bit different. But we haven’t made a decision as yet,” he told FARPost.
Nabi guided Yanga to the treble last season as Simba struggled to keep up with their marauding rivals.
Timu ya Wananchi won the league title, Azam Cup and the Community Shield.
After a successful season, he was handed a contract extension, but indications are that his future hangs in the balance.
A lot was expected from them this season, going into the CAF Champions League.
In the domestic league, they are level with Simba after six outings. They have picked four wins and drew twice in their opening six fixtures.
They sit in second place courtesy of an inferior goal difference. On the other hand, their crosstown rivals made it through to the CAF Champions League group stages when they beat.
