Let bygones be bygones, look ahead and let the show go on, under pressure Kaizer Chiefs head Arthur Zwane said after the club’s MTN8 semifinal exit.
Zwane’s men were knocked out of the top eight competition on the away goals rule as AmaZulu held on for a goalless draw at a nearly packed Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday. The first leg had ended 1-all at FNB Stadium a few weeks ago.
However, Zwane is not crying over spilt milk, insisting that he couldn’t ask more from his players despite failing to score against Usuthu.
ZWANE COMMENTS ON MTN8 EXIT
“Surely they [fans] might have seen that the players tried their best,” Zwane told the media.
“Yes, we are all disappointed, but at the end of the day, you can’t change the result, there is nothing you can change now.
“We just need to be focused, this is a journey, and we know that we will eventually get it right.”
With the Amakhosi faithful expressing their anger and displeasure following the cup exit, Zwane sent a message to them pleading with the fans as they are seemingly losing patience.
The Soweto giants haven’t won a trophy in almost a decade, and Zwane was appointed as coach at the start of the season with hopes that the club legend will end the long-trophy draught.

But things so far in the 2022/23 season haven’t been going according to plan for Zwane and his troops, as they have also put in a below-par display in the league with only five wins in 12 games.
But Chiefs still have the Nedbank Cup and league title to fight for as they are eager to end the trophy drought.
“This is a journey; we came here to win the game. We did not lose this game; they just went through because of the away rule,” added Zwane.
“They boys did well, you win some, and you lose some, sometimes you draw.
“We are all disappointed, and the only thing we can do now is to forget about this one because there is nothing we can change.
“The boys really fought; you can’t fault them. Yes, we could have done better, but they did everything. We need to look at ourselves and grind results.”
Usuthu will take on Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final on the 5th of November in Durban.
