Why AmaZulu lack of goals is not a concern for Romain Folz
AmaZulu coach Romain Folz has explained why his team’s lack of goal-scoring is not a concern for him. This comes after a 0-0 draw against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday in the MTN8 semi-final second leg.
AmaZulu progressed to the final on the away goal rule. This was because the first leg ended in a one-all draw at FNB Stadium.
LACK OF GOALS
Folz has only been in charge of Usuthu for three matches, and the team has scored only twice. To add, Folz is yet to register his first win in the South African topflight. He resigned as Marumo Gallant coach winless after eight matches in the DStv Premiership.
“It’s not a problem [lack of goals], first because we scored in other games except this one. I don’t think it’s the case. I think we are the team with the best chances today [against Kaizer Chiefs]. Most importantly, I will be worried if we not in the capacity to create chances,” Folz told the media.
“If you’re not much dangerous to the opponent. Or if you lacking in the capacity to create opportunities, then I will have a different speech.
“I’m not worried, I know it’s going to come. To be honest, I prefer to win a solid 2-0 than a 6-4 for example.
Folz further stated what’s important to him in the team other than goal scoring.
“As much as I want us to score, and I know we will. My priority is to get the team balanced. For every team coming to play us or us going to play them. For everyone to find a different task playing against us.
“It was the case against Chiefs. They have a very good team. For us to deny them creating chances against us, I think it’s a big accomplishment,” Folz added.
The nil-all stalemate meant Usuthu will face another Soweto giant, Orlando Pirates, on November 5th at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
