Kekana reveals Maritzburg trio likely to hurt Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana has revealed three Maritzburg United players with capabilities to inflict more pain on the Tshwane giants.
As much as Sundowns will be eager to take out their MTN8 frustration on Maritzburg, Kekana says they are wary of the threat posed by the KwaZulu-Natal dangermen heading into the DStv Premiership at Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday evening (19:30).
Kekana believes the three players that can hurt Sundowns are Bongani Sam, Thabo Moloisane and Given Mashikinya.
KEKANA ON MARIZTBURG TRIO
“Maritzburg [United] likes to attack on the wings, they have players like Bongani Sam and Thabo Moloisane,” Kekana told the club’s media department.
“In the midfield they are a bit strong with Given Mashikinya.
“We know they will be coming out guns blazing, but we’ll also be doing the same.”
Masandawana will be hoping to get back to winning ways after suffering a 3-0 humiliating defeat against Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi final at the weekend in Polokwane.
The defeat led the club’s management reshuffling the technical team on Monday with Rulani Mokwena taking over as Sundowns head coach.
Kekana however, anticipates a difficult encounter as the KZN outfit will be fighting to move out of the relegation zone.
“It’s going to be a tough encounter against Maritzburg United, it’s always tough going to Maritzburg. They are obviously down in the relegation zone they will be looking to get out of it,” said the Sundowns defender.
“We will be looking to bounce back and just over the lose that we suffered against Orlando Pirates. Hopefully we’ll get a positive result there.
“It’s an encounter that we will be prepared for, obviously we still bruising our wounds but we’ll give it our all, we’ll give all effort and try get a positive result,” Kekana added.
