Pogba set to be ready for World Cup

Juventus and France midfielder Paul Pogba is set to be ready for the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to take place in Qatar.

The prestigious tournament will be kick-off on Sunday, November 20, at the Al Bayt Stadium, with the hosts going head-to-head with Ecuador in Group A.

Pogba suffered a knee injury (lateral meniscus) just weeks after re-joining the Juve from Manchester United.

According to L’Equipe newspaper, the 29-year-old footballer is currently recovering well after his surgery and “should be ready to play in the World Cup for his country next month.”

“Following complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent radiological examinations that revealed a lesion of the lateral meniscus,” read Juve’s statement when announcing Pogba’s setback in July 2022.

Pogba is yet to make his debut for the Italian giants since his return after a topsy-turvy second spell with the Red Devils.

N’GOLO KANTE RULED OUT…

Meanwhile, the likes of N’Golo Kante will not be able to participate for the defending champions.

According to the statement released by Chelsea last week, the midfielder underwent a successful operation for his hamstring injury.

“The midfielder visited a specialist with the club’s medical department to explore the options for his rehabilitation approach, and it was mutually agreed for N’Golo to have surgery to repair the damage,” read the Blues’ official press release.

The 31-year-old midfield maestro will be sidelined for four months and continue with his treatment.
