Sundowns’ Tshabalala offers advice to Buffaloes ahead of Champions League

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies mentor Jerry Tshabalala has offered a piece of advice to Zambia’s Green Buffaloes ahead of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Morocco from 30 October – 13 November 2022.

In August this year, Buffaloes dethroned Banyana Ba Style following their 6-5 win on penalties in the CAF Women’s Champions League Cosafa zonal qualifiers final at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

The game had ended 0-0 after 120 tiresome minutes.

The Zambian side is drawn in Group A alongside the hosts ASFAR, Simba Queens of Tanzania and Determined Girls from Liberia.

Buffaloes are expected to arrive in Morocco in a good form.

They have won all of their league games this campaign.

Tshabalala has advised Buffaloes to work on their attacking approach as it is something they seem to be lacking.

TSHABALALA’S ADVICE TO GREEN BUFFALOES

“Look, the Zambian team [Green Buffaloes] have been doing well in terms of dominating local teams,” Tshabalala told the media.

“I know they have played three games in their domestic league and have won all of them.

“The only advice I can give to them when we go the CAF Women’s Champions League which is a bit different stage is to work on their striking force.

“Something that could benefit them is that they are a team that doesn’t concede easily.

“And if you don’t concede goals you stand a chance of winning a game.

“But they need to work on their attacking approach.

“I think that could be their only downfall because you can’t go into the game and decide to sit back for the whole 90 minutes without trying to get a goal.

“Nonetheless, they are a very strong side.

“One of the sides that can cause upset in the Champions League.”
