Bizana Pondo Chiefs sack head coach
Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League side Bizana Pondo Chiefs have shown their head coach Masixole Matiwane the exit door.
This comes after the club’s string of poor results in the new season.
‘Scara’, as he is popularly known within the football circles took charge of four matches. managed to win one game, drew one and lost one.
Matiwane was appointed as the head coach of Pondo Chiefs in July. He was working alongside the club’s long-serving captain Siyabonga ‘Siya’ Nzimande as the assistant coach.
The departing coach previously served as the head coach of Zizwe United. He was also assistant coach for Chippa United’s first team. In Cape Town he was head coach for Ikapa Sporting, and head coach for Happy Wanderers. He is a holder of the CAF Coaching A and B licenses.
Upon Matiwane’s appointment, the club’s chairman Nathi Mqokiyana had so much trust in Matiwane and he said ”we are confident that he will fit in the team based on his experience in football.”

“Bizana Pondo Chiefs would like to inform the lion nation that coach Mr Masixole “Scara” Matiwane has been released from his duties from the club as of today,” said the Bizana-based club in a statement.
“We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Meanwhile, Motlatsi ‘Ntsimbi’ Hloaysi will take over the club as the caretaker coach assisted by Siyabonga Nzimande.
Hloaysi recently returned back to Bizana Pondo in September this year as the club saw a need to beef up its technical team.

“Welcome back to the team! We have missed working with you over the last few months, and we’re so glad to have you back” these were of words of the chairman welcoming back Hloaysi into the club’s set-up.
The side will play their next league game against Relatives on Saturday, 12 November at Mphuthumi Mafumbatha Stadium.
The kick-off is set for 15:00.
