Motsepe Foundation teams show interest in Rodney Ramagalela
Former Chippa United striker Rodney Ramagalela has caught the eye of four Motsepe Foundation Championship sides.
The striker looks set to make a comeback to the professional set-up soon.
Ramagalela was let go by the Chilli Boys at the end of last season. He had joined the Eastern Cape Club while Gavin Hunt was still in charge. But an injury kept him out of action for the whole season prompting the club to release him.
News reaching FARPost is that four clubs have made an inquiry about the former Black Leopards striker.
RAMAGALELA INTEREST
The clubs include Venda Football Academy, Casric Stars, Magesi FC as well as the University of Pretoria.
He is expected to start training with one of the clubs in the next few days as they assess his fitness levels.
“AmaTuks seem to be the more serious club about his services but we will wait and see,” said a mole.
Ramagalela first made a name for himself between 2009 and 2013 while he was in the books of Black Leopards.
His performances earned him a lucrative deal to join Mamelodi Sundowns. He was signed alongside Tiyani Mabunda and Raymond Monama under coach Pitso Mosimane.
After struggling to get game time at Masandawana, he joined Golden Arrows on a loan deal.
The striker resurrected his career at Polokwane City where he spent three seasons scoring 23 goals in 73 appearances. He later moved to Highlands Park before they were sold to TS Galaxy.
TOUGH TIMES
But the 33-year-old has found the going tough in the past three seasons. He lost his mother and daughter within a space of a year in 2019 while he was still attached to the now defunct Highlands Park.
In 2021, his house in Limpopo burnt down to ashes while he was away at Chippa United. He has been without a club since the beginning of the season.
