The four players on Liverpool’s radar for January transfer window
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on adding new faces to his squad in the January transfer window.
Liverpool recently suffered injury blows with Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota and new signing Arthur Melo, all sidelined by injuries.
“We are always open to these kind of things, but we don’t have to open that discussion,” said Klopp after their 3-1 win over Southampton.
“It doesn’t help now because it is always the same. We always talk about the same. It’s always the same; if there’s something possible for us, we will do it.
“If not, what do we mean ‘you need? So, we cannot play without it? That’s not the case – we can. But if the door opens, or opens up, then we are open as well, that’s not a problem, so it’s not about wanting or whatever.
“Of course, we want to improve the team all the time. We just believe in the training ground as well, that we can do it there, so we will see what happens.”
Here are four signings Liverpool will be eager to bring on board in January.
Jude Bellingham
The Merseyside giants have been linked with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder and may have to battle it out with Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Matheus Nunes
The 24-year-old midfielder was linked with The Reds before joining Wolves. According to reports, Liverpool still maintains interest. However, with his contract set to expire in 2027, it may be too early for Wolves to release him.
Enzo Fernandez
Sky Sports recently reported that the Argentinian was on Liverpool’s radar. Again, the English giants reportedly continue to monitor him, weighing up the possibility of bringing him to England.
Nicollo Barella
Reports from Italy suggest that Inter Milan could be left with no choice but to sell in January due to financial reasons. Together with Lautaro Martinez and defender Alessandro Bastoni, they could be sacrificed by Inter to raise funds. Should that be the case, Klopp would likely be happy to have Barella in his dressing room.
