Golden Ladies relegated, Vasco Da Gama survive the chop

The Hollywoodbets Super League action was in full swing this weekend, which ended in bitter tears for Golden Ladies and tears of joy for Vasco Da Gama.

Matchweek 28 of the Super League saw Golden Ladies bitting the dust as their fate was confirmed.

Vasco Da Gama survived the chop in what was their first season in the Super League.

Golden Ladies succumbed to a 4-3 defeat away from home to City Lads in a match that was drama-filled and entertaining for the spectators.

GOLDEN LADIES RELEGATED TO SASOL LEAGUE

The defeat meant that Golden Ladies will be relegated to the Sasol League together with Tsunami Queens. Currently, the side sit in 15th place on the table with 13 points after 28 matches.

Golden Ladies has a minus 71 goal difference.

This will make it hard for them to leapfrog Vasco Da Gama, who won their last game against JVW at home.

Da Gama shocked the Blue Diamonds with a 1-0 win.

The victory confirmed their survival in the Super League.

The Western Cape side has collected 19 points so far in order to save their own after 27 games.

They are in position 14 with a minus-36 goal difference.

And the Cape club showed no signs of turning their fortunes around given their recent form.

However, things have since taken a U-turn in their favour.
