Malmo leading top European clubs chasing Luke Le Roux’s services

A number of top European clubs are reportedly angling to pounce on Luke Le Roux for his services ahead of the usually busy January transfer window.

Sweden giants Malmo FF have emerged as the front runners vying for his signature, though with clubs from Netherlands and Belgium also believed to be interested in the exciting 22-year-old.

“It’s highly likely that he will move in January, he’s done extremely well in Sweden,” a source said.
A move to Malmo FF presents him with a golden opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Malmo previously home to former Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimović are seasoned campaigners in the top tier European club competition.

And at this point what gives him advantage to make a big move is his impressive work-rate.
The former national team Under 17 captain has made a positive and significant sojourn since joining Allsvenskan club Varbergs in 2020.

The workhorse midfield enforcer established himself as part of of the club’s backbone after featuring in 20 out of the clubs 30 last season.

He missed 10 matches but that was solely due to work permit issues. As a result of his efforts, the club managed finish on 10th position, with room for improvement this season.

In total, the former SuperSport midfielder has made 76 appearances for his current club, with one goal to his name.

For South Africa, the ex-Stellenbosch anchorman continues to rise above waters though at some point he was overlooked by Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

He ,however, was part of all junior national teams, as captain of the Under 17s before playing a pivotal role in the Under 20s road to the 2019 World Cup finals.

Along with the likes of Thabo Cele, Kobamelo Kodisang, Lebogang Phiri and Gift Links, they form a class of players that could potentially improve Bafana Bafana in the future if they are all considered.

Meanwhile, Le Roux was drafed into the 23-member Bafana Bafana squad that is all set for two international friendly matches this month.

They will play hosts to Mozambique and Angola at Mbombela Stadium on the 17th and 20th of November respectively.
