Former Sekhukhune and SuperSport coach Tembo on Dynamos’ radar
Zimbabwean giants Dynamos are reportedly considering acquiring the services of former SuperSport and Sekhukune United coach Kaitano Tembo as head coach.
Black Leopards coach Rodwell Dhlakama is also said to be part of the grand plan, where he will join as Tembo’s assistant.
There has been a lot of speculation at the Harare giants, with the club leadership said to be in a tug-of-war over Tonderai Ndiraya’s future at the helm of the club.
“Some want to retain him as head coach. Some want him gone because he failed to meet the set objective, with massive resources unlike in previous years,” a source told FARPost.
“He was allowed to sign as many players but couldn’t win the league.
TEMBO ON DYNAMOS’ WISHLIST
“The top names they are considering include Kaitano Tembo and Rodwell Dhlakama. Taurai Mangwiro is also wanted by some members of the executive,”
Tembo has been clubless since being sacked by Sekhukune United on November 1 following a poor start to the season.
A former Dynamos player himself, Tembo is yet to coach in Zimbabwe, having started his coaching career at SuperSport when he retired in 2006.
On the other hand, Rodwell Dhlakama recently took over from Joel Masutha at Black Leopards.
Dynamos are hoping to assemble a strong technical team for next season, having failed to end FC Platinum’s stranglehold in the just-ended campaign.
The Harare-based giants were favourites to win the 2021/22 championship, but they lost steam at a crucial stage of the season to surrender the lead to Norman Mapeza’s team.
As a result, they ended the season in third position behind winners FC Platinum and Chicken Inn.
They last won the Castle Premier Soccer League title in 2014, then under the mentorship of Kalisto Pasuwa.
