Linda Mntambo reacts to his graduation from business school

Sekhukhune United midfielder Linda Mntambo has reacted to his graduation from a business school in Johannesburg on Monday.

Mntambo said the skills gained from the 2022 PSL Player Transition Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in Johannesburg would be beneficial.

He said he would plough back the knowledge gained into his football foundation activities back home at Mzimhlophe, Orlando West in Soweto.

“I am one of the products that says it takes a village to raise a child,” he said.

“I was raised by the community of Mzimhlophe, where we focus on development of sports.

“The last edition tournaments, one of our players of the tournaments was scouted by Kaizer Chiefs.”

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

The Soweto-born has always emphasized on giving back to the community where he grew up.

The former Orlando Pirates star graduated on Monday alongside his former Pirates teammate Innocent Maela.

Kaizer Chiefs duo of Itumeleng Khune and Zitha Kwinika, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Vincent Pule and Kennedy Mweene were also honoured.

PSL established the course in partnership with MultiChoice and GIBS to empower players in the PSL.

The programme is meant to help the players make a proper transition into the business world after retiring from playing football.

Some of the players took to social media to show off their certificates with clubs congratulation their players.

“Congratulations Phathu. A big shout-out to Phathutshedzo Nange for being one of the 2022 PSL Player Transition Programme graduates who completed the course at GIBS,” tweeted Chiefs.

“He was unavailable yesterday as he was a bit under the weather.”

“CLASS OF 2022. Congratulations to the 2022 PSL Player Transition Programme graduates (Linda Mntambo, Sello Motsepe, Pogiso Mahlangu and Edwin Gyimah),” said Sekhukhune on Facebook.

“The players were honoured yesterday at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in Johannesburg.”
