Asamoah Gyan equips himself with UEFA License coaching certificate

Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has revealed that he has completed his UEFA License B coaching course.

Gyan enrolled in the course through the Football Association of Wales, and it was a six-month programme.

It is a residential course for those with experience in playing or coaching in the football profession.

The 36-year-old’s graduation means he is now a certified UEFA coach.

Gyan took to social media on Thursday to announce the latest achievements.

“Your new UEFA License Coach is here. Thanks to all who made it possible & a special one to the Wales FA; this is just the beginning. January 2023 Coaching Clinic loading,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Gyan has also sent a message of support to the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana will begin their World Cup Group H campaign against Portugal on Thursday, 24 November.

The former Black Stars captain says every Ghanaian should pray for the team to deliver.

“Everyone has shared his or her opinion about the BLACK STARS. The 26-man squad is out now, so what we have to do now is to support those in camp now. If u have any comments, wait till after the first game of the tournament. But for now. Let’s pray for the team to deliver,” he wrote on his Twitter page.

Ghana beat Switzerland 2-0 in their friendly match at ZSC Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday morning as part of the preparations for the World Cup.

Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu and Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo scored in each half for Ghana.

After the clash against Portugal, Ghana will face South Korea on Monday at Education City Stadium. They will wrap up their Group stage campaign with a clash against Uruguay on 2 December.
