Maritzburg United are exploring the options to ship-out Tshidiso Monamodi and Given Mashikinya, as the duo is seemingly not in the plans of the club’s new coach Fadlu Davids.
Davids recently rejoined Maritzburg, and FARPost has been led to believe that the former Orlando Pirates coach has deemed Monamodi and Mashikinya surplus to requirements.
Monamodi and Mashikinya were some of the players that the previous coach John Maduka had faith in as he worked with them at Royal AM.
The new coach, Davids, is on a mission to save the Maritzburg club from relegation.
According to insiders, Davids believes Monamodi and Mashikinya are not good enough to play for Maritzburg.
Monamodi, a Kaizer Chiefs reserve side player can be deployed at left-back and midfield.
On the other hand, Mashikinya, who has captained Maritzburg this season, is a midfielder.
He has made 11 appearances for the club in the current campaign.

It is understood that Maritzburg has released the duo, with more players reportedly set to be shown the exit door if they fail to impress Davids during the month-long FIFA World Cup break in Qatar.
“Fadlu Davids has decided to make changes in the team, with Monamodi and Mashikinya already affected by it, as they were released last week,” an insider told FARPost.
“The coach has made it clear what kind of players and attitude he needs for his team. The mood in Team of Choice camp is unbelievable.
“You can see the intentions of Fadlu Davids; he is clear from the training sessions.
“Maritzburg United players were no longer feeling this kind of motivation; they have now. You can see Davids has grown as a coach and is well educated now; he is way better than before”.
Davids’ troops will play several friendly matches to prepare for the second round of the DStv Premiership end of December.
They will host TS Galaxy on Friday, 30 December, in what will be Davids’ first league game upon his return.
