Paris Saint-Germain [PSG] owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi has broken his silence on Lionel Messi’s Barcelona return talks and reckons that the Argentine skipper is “happy” in France.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner joined French side, PSG on a two-year deal in August 2021 on a free transfer.

Messi is currently in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup. The talented attacker will lead his national team on Tuesday when they take on Saudi Arabia at 12:00 [SA time].

AL-KHELAIFI ON MESSI RUMOURS’ RETURN TO BARÇA

“Messi is with us. He is a Paris Saint-Germain player and has a contract with us. He has a contract with us and we will see at the end of the season. He’s happy in Paris,” Al-Khelaifi told talkSPORT.

However, Messi stated that he will make a decision on his future after the ongoing World Cup competition.

“My future will depend on how I feel personally and physically above all,” said Messi.

“After this World Cup, we will see what could happen with my career.”

Meanwhile, Al-Khelaifi went on to reveal that he had received a €4billion offer to sell PSG. But he says he is not not interested in entertaining the offer.

“Over €4bn. We are not going to sell, but why not a small percentage of the club? We think about different offers,” he added.

“The club and people are always talking about Paris Saint-Germain and think we have just money and spend money and that’s not true.

“lf you own a company then you need to inject money and that’s about business and football. We bought the club for €70m and now it’s worth over €4bn.

“In football you take decisions and you can decide the wrong decisions. We are also honest, we are doing our best

“We brought the club from where we were to where we are today and I think we should be proud.”
