Kodisang tipped for permanent move in Portugal

Kobamelo Kodisang has been in sensational form in Portugal and the winger is tipped for a permanent move away from Braga.

Kodisang is on loan in Portugal’s second-tier league at Moreirense, where the winger’s performances have been nothing short of outstanding.

The former South African junior international, Kodisang has been directly involved in nine goals in 13 league matches in the colours of Moreirense.

Kobamelo Kodisang has managed to score six goals and provide three assists, playing in all the club’s league games this season.

And according to Kodisang’s agent Mike Makaab, the player may have won himself a permanent contract at Moreirense because of the great displays of late.

Kobamelo Kodisang has been one of Moreirense’s key players, scoring very important goals for the team as they look to gain promotion to Portugal’s topflight.

His recent performances have made him regain attention from South African.

Before he joined Moreirense, he was heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs at the start of the season. But both camps did not agree on terms.

OFFERED PERMANENT DEAL

The 23-year-old attacker is unlikely to make a switch to South Africa, with Moreirense seemingly keen on signing him on a permanent deal.

Makaab has hinted that Kodisang may stay at his current club Moreirense, after being offered a permanent deal.

“At the moment he is at Moreirense on loan and at the moment they are looking to buy him,” Makaab told FARPost.

“It seems like they have a good chance of winning promotion, so he is very happy there.”

Despite his recent good form, Kodisang was overlooked by Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos for the two friendly matches against Mozambique and Angola, which took place most recently in Mbombela.

“Am I surprised he is overlooked for Bafana Bafana? Yes, but every coach has his own opinion and we have to respect that,” added Makaab.

Moreirense will be hoping to keep their good form, when they resume league action following the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup break

Kodisang’s side are at the summit of the log standings with 32 points, four ahead of second-placed Farense after 13 games.
