Mozambique coach points out Bafana Bafana biggest problem
Mozambique national team head coach Chiquinho Conde has pointed out Bafana Bafana’s biggest problem, which he believes hinders them from succeeding.
Bafana recently hosted and beat Mozambique 2-1 in an in international friendly match at Mbombela Stadium.
Despite Bafana showing character by registering the victory from a goal down, Conde is of the view that Hugo Broos‘ men are not united.
According to Conde, the Bafana players are not playing as a collective.
CONDE’S IMPRESSION OF BAFANA
“For me, we need that [competition] because we have to be competitive; the team is prepared very well,” Conde told FARPost.
“We had the privilege to play against the national team of South Africa. We’ve analysed a lot of South African games and national team players, tactically and individual duals. I think it’s more of an individual [team].”
“First call for players in South Africa, I think they don’t have good confidence in the box. That’s in the last [final third], in set pieces, good tactic and well aggressivity,” he added.
“I’ve seen the [Bafana Bafana] games before, we saw many poor moments in the match, the defence, the transitions for different attacks. Transitions, attack and defence I think they have a problem.
“We had a difficult talk about this with my players because our physical condition is not good, that’s why I changed the situation to play high, press high.”
In the last four previous matches, Bafana have been impressive. They registered three victories and one draw.
On the other hand, Mozambique are not consistent in their performances. They have one win, one draw and they suffered two defeats.
