Baroka appoint Bushy Moloi as new coach to take over from Kobola

Baroka have appointed Bushy Moloi to take over as the club’s head coach from Vincent Kobola.

As FARPost reported last week, Moloi and Johnny Ferreira were the two coaches officially approached by the club.

Ferreira has since opted to take the offer from neighbors and Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards.

Moloi begins his new role on Tuesday morning during a friendly match with one of the local clubs.
This is his second stint at the club.

He was an assistant coach during Wedson Nyirenda’s tenure.

Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele confirmed to FARPost on Tuesday that Moloi has been tasked with helping the club return to the DStv Premiership.

BUSHY MOLO’S MANDATE

“He (Bushy Moloi) is back in the team because we are struggling,” Mphahlele told this publication at the Baroka Village on Tuesday.

“So, he is coming to give us the much-needed beef up and help.

“We believe he has the ability to do that because he has been winning things. He is bringing his own assistant.”

“We want good football, we want to lose playing good football. We don’t care too much about the results but we want enterprising football because we have young players who can play good football.

“If you don’t play good football, they (players) get frustrated. So the mandate to Bushy is that he must play our football.”

ON PROMOTION CHANCES

Mphahlele admitted that it will be difficult for his team to gain promotion back to South Africa’s topflight as they started the season on a bad note

Baroka are in 13th place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship log standings after 11 matches, three points above bottom-place Pretoria Caillies and 14 behind log leaders Polokwane City.

“It is going to be very much difficult but it’s possible,” said the Baroka boss.

“To believe it’s not going to help me but I am saying it’s possible. It’s not yet over, we still have 19 games to play so anything can happen.
