Bushy Moloi eager to change Baroka’s fortunes in second-tier league

Newly appointed Baroka coach Bushy Moloi, eager to change the club’s fortunes, anticipates a different return to the club than his first stint.

Moloi has returned to the club to take over from coach Vincent Kobola in the second-tier League, Motsepe Championship Foundation.

The Limpopo-based club is yet to officially confirm the departure of Kobola.

But FARPost witnessed Moloi take charge of his first training session at Baroka Village on Tuesday morning.

Although Baroka are expected to keep most of the backroom staff that worked with Kobola, club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has also indicated that Moloi will bring in a few new faces.

MOLOI HAPPY TO BE BACK

“Look, it’s always wonderful to come back and work extra hard,” Moloi told FARPost

“Maybe before I did not equip myself better and the chairman (Mphahlele) decided to allow me to go and learn more.

“Look now I am back to assist the team, to go back to their position which is in the higher division.”

Moloi admits that it will be difficult at first but hopeful of recent results and performances by his men when the league resumes in January 2022.

“Although it’s going to be more difficult at the start of the year when we face the well oiled machine Polokwane City. But I think for me it’s nice to see the guys back, the technical team and we hope for the best. That is what we left for us to work extra hard and see what God almighty can give us,” he said.

“Structurally we need to hold. Maybe there are a lot of things that happened that I am not aware of. But I value the coaches that were here before and like we always say a player needs luck.

“Maybe the only thing they needed was luck and unfortunately it’s the nature of the business and you need to make a rational decision that might not excite everyone.

“Ours is to develop and also nature the talent that we see. I saw a better team that needs adjustment here and there, but with my experience I think we can work better to take this team where it belongs.”
