How Vincent Kobola fared at Baroka

Former Baroka coach Vincent Kobola was the latest causality to be shown the exit in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, therefore, FARPost looks at how Kobola fared in the 2022/23 season.

On Tuesday, this publication confirmed that Kobola’s position has been filled by Bushy Moloi, who returns to the club for his second stint. Moloi will be in charge for the remainder of the season.

Kobola’s exit was mainly because Baroka was failing to grind results, despite making many signings at the beginning of the season.

Bakgakga, aiming to return to the DStv Premiership next season find themselves in an unfavourable position in the log. They are in 13th place with 11 points, 14 shy from table toppers Polokwane City.

VICTORIES

Kobola was in charge of Bakgakga for 11 games. He managed to register three victories.

The former defender’s biggest victory with Baroka was against Pretoria Callies on September 14th. The team won 3-1 on the day.

DRAWS

The Polokwane outfit managed to register two stalemates so far this season. These matches were against All Stars FC and Magesi FC. The encounters ended in goalless and one all draws respectively.

DEFEATS

Baroka are the third team with more defeats in the league with six losses after Venda Football Academy and Pretoria Callies, who have eight.

Their biggest loss of the season so far was 4-2 against MM Platinum [La Masia] on the last day of the league before the FIFA World Cup break.

GOALS

Under Kobola, the team was doing well in finding the back of the net. They managed to score 13 goals, four less from top scorers Polokwane City and Casric Stars.

In terms of defending the team was not great, they conceded 15 goals.
