Ghanaian midfielder set to reunite with Clinton Larsen at Magesi

Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Darpoh looks set to reunite with his former coach Clinton Larsen.

News reaching FARPost is that Darpoh has begun training at Motsepe Championship League side Magesi FC.

Magesi recently appointed Larsen as the head coach to take over from Jackie Ledwaba.

The 24-year-old, Darpoh, worked with Larsen at ABC Motsepe League club Summerfield Dynamos. This was after his contract at AmaZulu was terminated.

After a short stint at Summerfield, Darpoh joined Limpopo club Venda Football Academy (VFA) in the second-tier league.

Surprisingly, Darpoh was one of the players recently released by VFA who are in a rebuilding phase.

He played 10 matches for the club but seemingly did not do enough to convince the VFA management to retain his services.

SAMUEL DARPOH SET FOR NEW HOME

“He (Samuel Darpoh) has impressed the coach and is very likely to be signed,” said the insider.

Darpoh arrived in South Africa in 2016 from the Ghanaian club Okwawu United. In the five seasons at the club, the anchorman played over 72 matches without any goal.

Meanwhile, coach Clinton Larsen has already begun taking charge of the club ahead of the second round of the season. The club is likely to officially unveil him before the resumption of the league.

KAMBALA CLOSE TO SIGNING

Mozambique international Manuel Kambala is another player set to be unveiled as a new signing. The former Baroka midfielder has been training with Magesi for over a month now.

This publication has been reliably informed that the two parties are at an advanced stage to reach a deal. The 31-year-old will join his former teammate Elvis Chipezeze and Kagiso Selemela.

Magesi has had an impressive start in their return to the national first division. They currently occupy 10th spot after 12 matches.

With four wins so far, Magesi are just nine points below log leaders Polokwane City.
